Friends of Hartman Creek State Park

Come enjoy Hartman Creek State Park - 1500 acres set in the gentle hills and prairie of central Wisconsin near Waupaca.  A great place for camping, hiking, biking, skiing, geocaching, horseback riding, fishing or many other activities!  Come explore - if you have questions or comments, please let us know on our Facebook page.

Candlelight Ski - January 26, 2019 - 5:00pm - 8:00pm

Come on out and ski, hike or snowshoe by candlelight around Hartman Lake, Pope Lake and the trails north of Hartman Lake.  Start & end by the warm campfires and snacks at the Hartman Shelter.

Get your park pass (for sale starting Dec 1st) and avoid the lines!  The event itself is free, and no trail pass is needed, but you do need a pass or pay the daily fee to enter the park.

Bike trail updates - PLEASE be sure to check the Cronies FB page or ask/call the park office (715-258-2372) before riding to make sure they’re ready. That age old saying, there’s always someone who ruins it for the rest of us...

We have over 20 hours of volunteer time grooming in the last few days.

Please remember to check for a trail report before you venture out on the trail. Someone selfishly rode the blue and black trail right after grooming Sunday night when the snow was very wet. It has left ruts that have now turned to ice and cannot be repaired until significant snow fall.

If you’re not sure about the trail status, please ask. We will post all grooming and trail updates here.

That being said, green is in excellent condition, black is good with a few icy ruts, blue has multiple icy ruts that will be dicey without studs, but is rideable without studs.

I’ll just leave this link about fat biking trail etiquette right here.
